Default Mercedes Benz warranty

Looking at an '04 E320 estate for my wife. I'm fairly certain the standard MB warranty is 3 years. Is that right, and is it limited by mileage?

Thanks

The usual 3 years & 60k whichever first.

I had a couple of problems with my E320 Cdi when i had it but to be fair to Merc they were fixed without any hassle.

Thanks sti-04. Do you know how much it costs to extend the cover?

No, sorry mines was a 55 plate. Traded it in for the Cayenne

I do know that they offer service contracts that cover all servicing & any repairs for a fixed amount per month. One of my friends has a SL500 thats just turned 3yrs old & he took it out just incase.

I've got a 2002 C32 AMG which I bought in September. At the time of purchase it came with 12 months warrenty as it came from Mercedes Direct. I also extended the warrenty for another 12 months which was something like £550 to take it to Oct 2008.

Given the issues I've had with it since Sept, I'm so glad I extended the warrenty ! Infact it's there again whilst I'm on vacation.

It's a bit of a worry. This is a car we intend to keep for some years, they seem a little fragile.

Is one-off build quality stuff or ongoing problems that seem to crop up?

My Dad's got a 320CDI E-class, fully kitted out. In 1 yrs of ownership its been back to Mercedes atleast 5 times......

Take out an extended warranty......at £600 / yr its still a bloody bargain considering how many times the car's been back and how many parts have been replaced

Merc's are all name - Always go Jap if you want reliability

So long as you have FMBSH Mercedes will sell you a Signature Warranty for up to 10yrs / 100,000 miles regardless of who you buy the car from (private/trader). . ( It was £1100 for 2yrs for my S600 )..

Quite impressive to get a manufacturer-backed warranty for 10yrs

TB, you should consider a 280 cdi as this is just a detuned 320, i think it is something like 187hp as opposed to 202hp, they are both the same v6 diesel with seven speed auto box etc, this is the option i took last year and the car has been absolutely spot on, its just had its first service yesterday and i must say i am really impressed with it, we also have a e270 cdi 2003 which has done just 20k, and the difference between the two cars is like night and day, the 270 has been in for a few niggly bits but nothing major and is nowhere near as good a car as the 280 which has been faultless to date, it has definately restored my confidence in Mercedes.

just my 2ps worth

Aly, the car that TB is talking about will still have the old straight six engine and not the new V6 which appeared roughly around 2005. TB, if you have any questions, just PM me, as I work for MB Glasgow and these cars are my bread and butter.

Fecking dealers! When I bought my merc about 3 years ago I asked the dealer to throw in an extended warranty to clinch the deal and he said Mercedes don't offer such a thing. I've believed that for the last 3 years
