Default Suggestions please

Warm hatch, 8k, max 5 years old, from a dealer.

Just got screwed over on an Audi 1.8T Sport which was nice (and I'm gutted), looking for any other suggestions.

Also looking at Golf 1.8 or 2.3 V5 as posted earlier this week but any other suggestions? (Not italian)

Forget the V5. My field sales rep had one and it was quite slow and very thirsty not much better than my Impreza. Also it handled like a jelly and he was glad to finally get rid of it earlier this year. It was built like a tank but seemed to drive and drink like one too.

Never quite sure about a CTR, I know the vtechs are high revving but are they hard work?
I'm quite a lazy driver most of the time so like the idea of the delivery of the V5 and the high revvers put me off a bit.

If your only looking for a warm hatch then drive the CTR like grandad. It'll still be as quick as a V5. Then youve always got 6000rpm + if you feel like a thrash

I had one for 2 years and loved it

Good luck anyway

190 BHP as standard on a n/a engine , and yes similar to the vtec it is fun to drive at higher revs but for other normal day to day driving she's also gorg and comfy and very smooth , have had a trouble free 12 months owning her now , need any more info , pm me

Mmmmh, hadn't gone there, will take a look.

Took a V5 for a test today and thought it would suit me quite well. Fully loaded too with leather recaro's, sat nav, changer etc. Only thing was it was a 5 door, not three and being "sturdy" I can see the bolsters taking a hammering...

Nice to be driving a turbo again

Pick it up saturday. Was quite good when I took it out though, salesman was quite encouraging

Remap looks tempting, one of the companies is offering a five hour trial for free.

Picked up this morning - smooth, solid and quite speedy.
Sits lovely at 80-100 (k obviously).

Terrific seats and controls and although not a sports car, certainly gets the job done and has a bit of a chuckable element.
