Freind of mine is on his 2nd one and loves it, nice 5 cylinder 170bhp engine with reasonable grunt, try to buy one with sports suspension which was an option, otherwise its a bit of a boat on the handling front.

My mum's got one
Overall I'd say it's a nice car to drive but as Crofty has said, cornering can be a bit of a blacmange without the suspension upgrade.

I had a 20v V5 (170bhp) after a 150bhp 1.8T Golf.
I`d pick the 1.8T car over the V5 every time. The V5 felt lethargic after the turbo car and fuel economy on the V5 was a joke.
It sounded good and was relaxing to drive but in every other respect the 1.8T was streets ahead IMHO.
Oh, without the sports suspension they are awful.

I've just handed back my Bora with 'sports' suspension, not enjoyable to drive hard - wallows in bends and when you want to press-on, you end up disappointed with cornering speed. There are aftermarket suspension upgrades, but I would look elsewhere.
PS Pd150 was a great motorway car!

I chose a V5 (150bhp) over the 1.8T. I preferred the feel of the bigger engine.
Mine had H+R springs which lowered it 50mm, plus a better ARB. That completely sorted out the ride, IMO of course. The best bit though was the exhaust. I had a stainless system fitted from cat back, and boy, did that sound that absolute dogs nuts

Swings and roundabouts then.
Has anybody used Robert Miles in Sidcup?
They've got loads and all with warranty (but could be worthless depending on conditions) so might be worth a look to try out different models.
