Any mechanically minded TT experts here today?
Gents.
My wife noticed that the brake lights were on constantly when loading some shopping the other day (pls no TT jokes that involve shopping or hairdressing!), lights on & won't go off even with engine off ... only way to turn them off is to remove fuse! My brother in law knows a bit about cars so guessed it was the brake light switch, got a new part from Audi however it's made no difference. Part removed did look old though and was sticking when pushed in.
I'm stuck now as you can't drive it on the road as it's too dangerous. Any ideas on what might fix it as I'd rather sort it myself than wait for the Stealers - they probably won't be able to take it in for at least a week (too long)?
Cheers, TX.

With the switch disconnected are the lights on? No? Then test the lights with the new switch before fitting it. When fitting, you have to wind the switch in toward the pedal to push the plunger in, so when the pedal is pressed the plunger comes out and creates the circuit. If this doesn't work then.............................................. ................................Errr.Errrrrr. Take it to your local friendly non franchised garage....LOL

i work for vw, the common prob is the brake light switch, some time you can fit them incorrectly... u need to hold the pedal down and make sure u twist the switch until u hear the click.. if the swith you bought has already been fitted you will need another new one. hope this helps.
