Default Nismo kit for 350Z

I'll soon be after a 350Z (subject to test drive). I often search pistonheads, autotrader etc and would really like one with the Nismo kit. They seem to be like rocking horse poo though.
I guess if I end up buying one without I can get the bodykit through Nissan but imagine going this route would cost a few grand (with fitting and painting etc)

Saw one in Derby a few weeks ago in black with huge wheels. It looked amazing. So that really sold it too me. Now I look at them without the kit and find them a bit, errm, normal!

Are there any specialists out there who would know how much the kit would cost retro-fitted?
Else I guess I'll need to be lucky to find one for sale when I'm ready to buy.

Thanks

Nick

Yeah I thought that you couldn't really get the kit aftermarket? Although I'm sure someone makes a copy somewhere.

Nismo kit does transform the car...According to my local dealer it is only an option on a new car at £2850. There are copies available and of course various other kits.

This is peachy:

I agree the Nismo kit looks good. I bought my 350Z 2 months ago and there were a few Nismo kitted ones around for sale but they were going for upto £2k more than a car of the same miles/age without the kit.

I decided for the same money that I'd rather buy a car that was a year younger with less miles on it. Each to their own I spose.

Ended up with a 2005 GT4 so got an extra 20bhp as well

Question

Saw one of these the other day. Looks good, but it's just a bodykit, then? No motor/handling/performance mods

Took a nice NISMO kitted 350Z out today, very nice indeed. Struggling to find a nice one in my price range at the moment. Tried both manual and the tiptronic, very impressed with the auto, incredibly smooth change.

Am I correct in stating that auto/tiptronic are only available as grey import?

UK spec only for me. Moving away from imports for the time being. Manual for me anyway.

Visited local Nissan dealer yesterday. They have a demo 2006 model in stock finished in black with the GT pack - Rays alloys etc. they've agreed to let me have it for a "few hours" in 2 weeks time. Could've had it sooner but I'm too busy
So I'll be trying it on the drive/in garage as well as on A and B roads.
Will let you know how I get on with it.

Yes, I believe the tiptronic is only available as an import. Off to look at another manual on Weds, an import but the same as the UK spec GT, leather, Brembos etc. Certainly a fantastic piece of machinery.

Thumbs up

Bedford autodrome use them as their sporty road cars on their corporate hostility days.

I drove them as part of the Nissan Sony GT4 competition. Best thing were the NISMO brakes and the noise from the Nismo exhaust. 350z is a lot of fun - a real oversteering barrel of laughs.
