Wifey's GTI-6......some piccies at last!
Well, we've had it a few days, and given it a damn good clean out.
Still got proper wash and shammy, then claybar/wax it, but it's cleaned up pretty well so far
not bad for a fraction of Fkcu all
Apologies about the piccy quality - the light was going
Will post up more when I get to clean it this weekend (weather permitting!! )

PS to go back to topic, agree that if you get a half decent phase 1 GTi-6, they are going to be a great car for the money, decently quick and a seriously entertaining chassis; so nice one

I have to admit that whist driving it the 135miles home, I got off the M6, and hit the A49............
And haven't had as much of a laugh in a LONG time!!!
Go-Kart handling, and really responsive feel
Better handling than the Scoob by a long run. And i had two Scoobs!!
Nowhere near the performance of my S4, but soooo much more fun!!
The big problem now is fighting the wife for the keys

Interesting comments, I went off Evo/Impreza etc etc as they were just too good for getting real enjoyment out of driving (and I do not mean big numbers on a speedo as that is just boring). As one gets more mature (me now mid 30s) the more I crave early hot hatches including the 306 Rallye/GTI as it is all about enjoying yourself and not being bothered by my 1/4 time is quicker than yours. In my opinion 4x4 sports cars suck (including the 911 4S) and there is no real sense of achievement.
If you saw Fifth Gear (I know it is REALLY crap but Tiff is still a legend) you will have seen the new Clio, now that is what it is all about.

White looks good but sometimes needs a lot of cleaning, same as black (which I think also suits the phase 1's, having owned a black phase 1 Dturbo as an economic runabout for a bit)

Tony - where did you get an exhaust from, as I'm trying to find a cheap and cheerful replacement. Going to keep the car totally standard (no induction kits etc)....
Any suggestions?

There are a couple of places that do exhausts, one on ebay and your local garage, cost is approx 150 quid inc for back box and section to cat, cat is 150 quid also.
