I've got a C43 - ie the 4.3 litre V8. Supposedly 300hp, 300+lb ft torque. 5 speed autobox.

Its my first "big" car so hard to compare it against, but I'm very pleased with it. My brother has a Mk 1 MX-5 and he drove my c43 the other day on roads he knows well and was quite surprised by the speed it would go round corners, with no fuss, no drama or squealing tyres and from a long trip this weekend its proven to be relaxing and refined with only road noise being audible.

Fuel consumption runs between 25 and 30mpg.

I've got a (W203) C32 AMG.
Bit on the thirsty side at 20MPG when driving like a nun. Only had it a couple of weeks so can't really draw to many conclusions as yet.
Engine is a supercharged 3.2V6 with 349BHP.

Very much a stealth motor, goes like the clappers, Autocar tested it to 60 in 4.6 and 100 in 10.8 and this is something which is a complete sleeper and automatic !

BlackScooby (or should it be BlueAMG?) - have you tried resetting the adaptive gearbox yet?

Years ago (way back when) I had a 1994 black scooby (Mica black)!
any way back on topic, no I haven't done the gearbox reset yet. It's off back to MB on Saturday to see if they can sort out the "engine diagnostic" fault which has put an orange picture of an engine on the dash. Once that's done I'll reset the gearbox.

I'll let ya know how it goes !

Cheers
Mark
**cough** apologies for hijack !
