Nothing like a pound for dollar conversion base price of the coupe is $43k (£23k) and the soft-top is $48k (£26k). So it looks as though it's between 19k and 22k to get it shipped over and SVA'd. Would be curious to know how much Litchfields would price one up at.

Over here, yeah, not too shabby, and the handling is meant to be a bit better than the standard 'stang. I'd be slightly tempted by a Roush or maybe the rather nice Sallen S281 Extreme Coupe (550 / 480) though that's a base price of $72k

I dont think its that bad to be honest - although with 500bhp i'm sure is enough to overwhelm its rear wheels.

having said that who needs handling when its this fast and will destroy most M5's RS6's etc.

It wont destroy a M5, maybe a RS6 but only in a drag race. Anything else its ****in ****e. Not even the yanks rate it.

No, it's not value for money. The car costs $45,000. Even with import tax at 10% and VAT at 17.5% it would cost no more than £32,000 to have it shipped to the UK. Someone is making a nice penny on it.

I had an order placed with a dealer in Texas for one until I bought a CL65 and read the GT500 reviews.. there was no way the GT500 would touch it.

Ok point taken but the stats compared to an M5 are very, very close like 0-100 in 8.7 now thats quick and to me a supercar bargain

Well it wont do crikey its got an extra 112bhp - how much did you pay for your CL???? surely bang for the buck the Mustang wins hands down - but to be honest they are like chalk and cheese and i woudl imagine offer a totally different driving experience.

I'm not sure they would offer such a different driving experience, both come in for comments like "lots of power but sloppy handling (compared to sports cars)".. So figuring servicing it would be a bit of a pain, and it being LHD (though I was going to get it converted to RHD) and a general feeling of cheapness with it I went down the CL route.. compare that to all the bells/whistles/warranty you get with a Merc, I couldn't justify the GT500 (plus I have the Lotus)

Talking raw pounds is vulgar, but suffice to say it had done over £90K of depreciation in 18 months before I bought the CL65.
