G/Friend has just bought the 1.6L petrol version and she's getting 22mpg in her first 2 weeks of ownership, around the doors.
I've only just caught on when I had a play with the trip computer at the weekend.
Surely this is ridiculous, considering my 3.2L beamer gets 24mpg around the doors. Shouldn't her figure be more in the thirties ? She used to get 29mpg from her little 1.8L escort, previously.

Read somewhere about these suffering from numerous fuel system problems, i.e. broken injectors, ECUs etc. Wouldn't be surprised if it was something like that?
Get the AFR checked somewhere.
In future try and discourage her from buying Citroen junk, consistantly near the bottom in reliability and customer satisfaction surveys.

Air Fuel Ratio
Should be able to stick a probe up the exhaust, rev it a bit, and see if it's fueling correctly. Every MoT test station has such a device.

I don't know, 22mpg takes some serious doing with a 1.6, run in or not.
That's the worst I get in my scooby when driving heavy through the town![Lol1](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/lol1.gif)
Ensure she knows where 3rd and 4th gears are, if so, a pop down to the garage is called for before it kills the cat from constant overfueling.
