Grande punto v VW Polo (both TDI)
Hi people, my dad is thinking of getting one of these cars back home in Sicily, the punto is the 90 bhp 1.3 multi jet and the polo is the 1.4 tdi version 80 bhp.
Has anybody driven these two cars before? I believe the polo is a 3 cylinder jobby is that right?
Thanks

Anybody driven a new tdi focus 1.6 or the fiest 1.6 tdi?

The depreciation on punto's is scary - a 3 year old one is like the price of a tescos mountain bike.
A polo or golf TDi will hold its value, even with stupid miles.
Try buying a low milage VW turbo diesel, it will have to be in excess of 100K miles to be anywhere close to the same price as another manufacturers equivalent.

Nah guys, the car is for our second home in Sicily, my dads out there now and has just bought the fiesta tdi which at the moment he will use 3/4 times a year when he goes there until he retires in a year or two.
Not worried about depreciation as we wont be selling it for a long time.
Anybody owned or driven a new Fiest tdi? what are they like, not expecting to set the world on fire but will be better than walking when i go out there!! lol

Yeah, had one as a curtesy car when my Mondeo went in for service.
The engine was nippy enough, I found it a bit small, but then the Polo is no better either in that respect, to me the build quality is as good as the Polo as well.
Doubt he will be dissapointed with it, though I would have a Focus instead
