Default Removing a Fabia stereo???

Anyone know how you remove the standard Fabia head unit? I'm about to buy something better, but haven't got a clue how you get it out. Does the trim either side of the the stereo come off?

I considered putting Max Power stickers on it, wheel spinning it around the local McDonalds, then waiting

Thankfully Chavs don't give it a glance (good job as its parked in a rough area...hence we didn't get two Scoobs )

Seriously, if your radio of the Fabia is embedded to dash. I would let a professional installer change it for you. AS you can get impatient and snap of a clip or something makeing your dash not fot back properly again.

kenwood radio removal keys or a chopped up credit card will work.

or even a hacksaw blade snapped in 2, or even the correct tool your dealer may have.

cheers matt.

What matt said.

There are two flat holes, one either side of the head unit, buy Kenwood keys from Halfords or use the cut down credit card or junior hacksaw blade option.

Cheers

Are the holes below the station presets for 1 and 6?

I've taken the trim off on either side of the stereo.

Does anyone have a picture? Is it literally down the side of the stereo?

You don't need to take any trim off, the holes are in the stereo itself.

Also James,

You do not need an adaptor lead or facia adaptor to fit an aftermarket stereo so dont let Halfords etc sell you one.

You will need an aerial amplifier (Under £10) and a bit of trim from Skoda to fit under your new stereo (Under £5). You will also need to swap the yellow and red wires round on your new head unit.

Cheers

Cheers for that Lee - think I may need to buy the 'keys' as I've already wrecked a nectar card trying to get it out
