It was my pride and joy in 1979

A GT Automatic - specially made, as the GT did not come with Auto as an option. This makes the car even rarer than it already is!

I replaced the Front wing after ripping the original off along the side of a parked lorry ...... the car that ran me into the lorry drove off!!

To think that I switched those switches 27 years ago is mind boggling

And washed and polished those panels .......

I am going to dig out my old pictures of the car when I had it .....

I have no scanner anymore, so I will have to take a digital picture of the prints I guess?

Need to find them now, 27 years is a long, long time to find photos from!! But it would be great if I could find them!?

I always remembered it as a darker blue - and - I'm sure the boot lid had a full black strip along the back ... the one in the photo looks like a GXL boot with the GT stickers replaced (but my memory plays tricks on me these days)

72 is tax free!!!!! Pete why did you need an auto in the first place mate? I had a MKII 1300, and a MKIII 1300 in a rather fetching shade of aubergine!!! in my early car days...Ahhhh! the smell of cheap vinyl...LOL

Ahh!! Yes bench seats, column change, 10 foot long bonnet!!! If I remember correctly it used to waft.........ney, glide down the deserted roads that were in blackburn in the 1960's...
