Well, I've got a GTO as well as a my03stippp And although they are very different they are still both very good capeable cars, so the driver must have been a complete Tw*t!
Great video, action and music!.... More please....

I saw the crash which he managed to drive away from,i also looked at the car when he got back to the GTO club stand. The car was a bit of track fun with a mate before it was going to be broken for spares.Tyres were Pirelli P6000 which imo are totally useless tyres! No wonder he crashed!

And thats the reason I would never take my car onto a track.
Theres always the talentless one with no idea about handling limitations, correct line round corners or when to brake, they could crash into you at any time and write their/your car off
Bit like driving on the road really

i saw this guy crash and im no expert driver but have enough experience to blame this one fully on the driver not the car.. Fair play to him for laughin it off but he obviously had no control over the car and was just a hazard to the other people out there!

I also lost control of my non-turbo GTO at the same bend, but instead of kissing the tyres I kept it on the track.
The problem with stock GTO set-ups, is the 4 wheel steering and active dampers don't work very well at the cars limits. In fact it's fair to saythat once a GTO starts to go, the 4WS will work against the driver and just make a spin inevitable.

I would say how easy it is for you guys who have never been on the track can be critical but you really should only do so when they've worn theTee Shirt
I took out a mate in mine If he'd have watch the laps from the sidelines he would agree slow laps, from within the PX seat would appreciate how close it was to the edge
IMHO

thats easy enough to say T5NYW but any person with common sense would learn from the first mistake, or even get lucky and learn from second mistake, but when you do it a third time, then it shows you have no care for the welfare of the other track users around you

Care for other track users .......... you lot make me laugh. I guess the other guys out playing for the crowd were ok were they?
The omega, who tried to impress the crowds, got steadily closer to the edge untill he hit with a big bang
The white skyline with green wheels who was playing all day, back end out crowds loving it.
The blue new age wrx who was worse than useless at the beginning of the day but by the end was starting to be able to hang the back out nicely.
This one guy wasn't so lucky, from what I saw and i was watching pretty closely he didnt once come close to another car, nor did he act stupidly when another car was involved. He was simply out enjoying himself, he had payed to do so. It is not frowned upon by the organisors. It certainly isnt frowned upon by the crowds. He didn't appear to have alot of talent, but hey neither do any of us to start with, he payed the price and still has a smile on his face ......
I salute you fella fair play.

If you're not into taking your car on track then thats your choice, but don't criticise those who do.
and in answer too your question, I would have claimed off my track day insuarance and gone straight back out again.........
