Audi Quattro UR
Can anyone give some advice on this one (ie what to look out for)?
It's a 2.x ltr 20v turbo jobbie, white, 142k circa 89/90, digital dash, those flared wheel arches, all boggo bar a scorpion exhaust. Looked this morning, what a minter, the dogs dangles and as the chap really needs to shift it, will accept 4.5 opposed to the nr 6k original. ins comp 600.
Always been a dream Audi to want to own, got the other , need another.

4.5k is cheap for a URQ... very very cheap really. Isn't it said that URQs got their name from the sound people make as their wallets are emptied at the garage?
Lovely cars though. 89/90 should be an RR 2.2/20v job, or a 10v MB engine. RR 20v cars are rare - if that's one, it's either a bargain or a wrong'un.

Hello
If your seriously thinking about it then go onto this site http://www.quattroforum.com/forum/ and look for a chap called Phil Payne. What he dpesn't know about quattros isn't worth knowing. If he's local to you/the car he'll do an inspection, if not he may be able to advise of a local specialist to check it out for you. His site is here. http://www.isham-research.co.uk/quattro/
If it's a 20v at that price it sounds too good to be true. You'd struggle to get a good 10v car for that price and the 20v cars are a LOT more expensive to run.
Good luck though.
Cheers
Brian
P.S. if you want a project you could always buy my 1984 10v car and restore it... http://www.quattroforum.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=12371

Whatever you do, don't buy one without somebody checking it over. That somebody needs to be a specialist, not the AA or RAC either
