Look what arrives on Friday
As you may know I'm a bit mad on Jap turbo cars especially those that are a bit different so as I run the Daihatsu Charade GTti owners club its only fitting I track down and own a bit of Daihatsu history.
This will be mine on Friday
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...1128595&q=gtti
Although it currently looks like this
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...5438465&q=gtti
But will be fully restored to look like the former. Plans included Motech LT8 or LT10 ECU, gasflowed head and reground cams, coil per plug ignition, larger throttle body, front mounted intercooler with water spray or Cyo2 system, hybrid turbo with Isuzu Trooper compressor wheel, lightened flywheel and new clutch and it already has an LSD fitted. Hoping for around 180 bhp, not bad for 993cc !! Suspension is sorted with DRS coilovers and Koni adjustable inserts but will need to sort out the brakes with either AP 4 pots or Wilwoods.
Should be ready in time for RallyDay and hope to be on track !

They are getting few and far between and quite desirable now. Still afew good ones left and the odd bargain on ebay.
If you fancy one let me know or if you're at JapFest or any of the big shows we're normally there if you fancy a chat and seeing what people have done

I have an Impreza Turbo and up until last week 3 of these. Its not too hard to get one of this quicker than a Scoob. They weigh nothing but I'd never want to ahve a crash in one, you might as well wrap a bit of paper around you for all the protection it will give.
You may have seen some of the club members doing the 0-60 runs at Trax and posting times better than any of the RS Focus that ran that day.
Re the noise you have to really hear one on full chat sounds like a 911 seriously ! Nto saying I buy my cars on noise but this was a big factor.

Thanks Andy, yeah I know Camskill well as we arrange a discount scheme for club members via them.
Very good place for your Toyo tyres and I've never found anywhere cheaper and they get them to you next day.
