Dated in the same way a 16 year old car is allowed to be... I'd still prefer an F40 over an F50 or an Enzo.

Stunning! Still the ultimate supercar IMO.

McLaren F1 and Veyron might be faster, but the F40 is just everything a supercar should be, and its a Ferrari too! Would love one!

think people with shed loads of cash buy them just for the sake of having one, tell their rich m8s down the that they have an f40, but never drive it. mainly because they wouldnt know what to do with it!

best ferrari made in my eyes, love it to bits....

probably because they've got the money but not the skills to actually drive it. Or possibly even the time...

Wow!!

Starting bid at 180K.....

Wonder what Ebay's fees would be for that?

Surely better off giving it to a dealer to sell on behalf......

Alot of Ferrari owners disconnect the speedo. As said by Mike Brewer.

Reson is, a Ferrari with more than 3000 miles a year lose too much money.

A mate of mine has one. Its a very quick car and sounds very nice. But it does stay in the garage for about 340 days a year sadly. Most F40 owners will drive 911s or similar as their day to day cars. Its not a good idea to do 10k miles a year as it will be worth nothing and the service costs will be massive. 180k is about right. For anyone who went to LeMans in 04 it was parked at Interieur Musee all weekend, although you could not see it most of the time as it tended to have loads of people crowded round it.

Mate had one, used to drive like he stole it, took me out in it only once sadly, only just knew him then. Awesome car, so loud.
He always said that the biggest problem was it was so low, he used to bottom out on everything. Prices have gone up a lot since he sold his though although whether it sells at 180k+ who knows....

Good point - I knew someone who had a 308GTS, but it only came out on special sunny days, and normally he did the commute in his 911.

5000 miles in 16 years. What was the bloody point in owning that. Why dint they just buy a painting if they wanted something to look at or make money.

The door handles on the F40 is just a strap on the door......talk about getting light weight! Gotta love the raw feeling to this car (according to the review by Tiff Needle on 5th gear)

This one was at Le mans on the same camp site as us last year 05 (however, the people weren't queing to see the car, they were waiting for the showers
