I loved my old one, but I always had a hankering for one of these or a 420/450seac .......
Probably the best sounding car ever made ...... rolling thunder. 275bhp as std

I always fancied one of these things too, many moons ago a rich git near me had a white 450 which he would rev the n#ts off any time he could, it sounded amazing.
His glory was destroyed when he came up against me in Sapphire Cosworth brand new on an 'F' plate. We where at some lights at the start of a long dual carrigeway he was reving the b#lls off it at the lights, he did make a good 1st gear launch but after that he was dust, even i was then impressed with the Cossie. He followed my back to where we started and stopped for a chat and was gutted his TVR was mashed by a Dagenham rot box.

As i said it did launch well but but once the Cossie came on boost he was history, i seen one last week in Warrington in Red (420), he had the roof off and was blipping the throttle at the lights, that was until some spoil sport in police car pulled along side him and told him to stop it.

Boyhood dreamcar was the 450SEAC. Always thought it looked outrageous and with a sound to make you go through underwear quicker than a 3 year old.

I've got a TVR Griffith 500 and a MY05 WRX PPP .....
The Griff is alot quicker than my Scooby - which itself is not slow!
If a Cossie was quicker than a 450 wedge I would want to know how much had been spent on the Cosworth !!!

You either love old TVR's or you hate them and bang on about unreliability.
Personally I would love an old Griffith, and I mean the very very old one not the 90's car. Taimar turbo was pretty cool too (first production turbo charged car in the world by the way)
But I really fancy getting my hands on a big engined wedge too......
One day .....

Actually looking on the web sites it seems the beemer was out a few months before the TVR ........... I have read in other places that it was the TVR though
3000M turbo rather than the Taimar

...Do you they really make 275bhp standard or is that one of TVR's white lies?
I've always loved SEAC's and Griffiths, would get a SEAC now if I could afford the insurance, I believe ALL TVR's are group 20! (I know you could get a classic policy but at 22y/o they dont make much difference)
Cheers, Greg.
