The Mazda RX-8 Evolve SE
#2
Alright Mate,
Jus curious where you heard this from as there has been whisperings of a "special edtion" for a while...
I had an RX8 before the scoob and the RX8Owners Club forum had regular mentions of it but never anything tangible.. Also, the Evolve was the concept car and i know in the past there has been some confusion over it being listed as a SE when in fact it is only different as it was the RX-Evolve originally floated before production....
Might be different now though..

‘EVOLVE’ – THE FIRST SPECIAL EDITION MAZDA RX-8
· First ever Mazda RX-8 Special Edition
· Value for money with enhanced specification
· Same price as standard car with leather
· Exclusivity with just 500 available
Mazda is introducing its first-ever special edition model of the Mazda RX-8 rotary powered four-door sports coupé. Called the ‘Mazda RX-8 Evolve’ the new model is named after the original concept car seen in Detroit in 2000 from which the Mazda RX-8 was developed.
Based on the 231ps high-power version of Mazda RX-8, the Evolve has several unique exterior features. These include a choice of two exclusive colours (Copper Red Mica and Phantom Blue Mica), unique dark silver 18 x 8J alloy wheels, a polished aluminium Rotary crest on the front air dam, dark silver bezel headlamps, sports door mirrors, polished aluminium side air outlet fins, stylish Rotary branded B-pillar trims, chrome exhaust surrounds and ‘Evolve’ badging.
Inside, the Evolve features unique stone leather and Alcantara® sporty seat trim, plus black leather-wrapped steering wheel, gear **** and hand-brake lever.
The revolutionary design of the Mazda RX-8 – with its blend of high-performance, unique rotary engine, sports car dynamics and generous interior space thanks to the 2,700 mm wheelbase and skilful packaging – make it a truly practical four-seater, four-door sports coupé.
The Evolve Special Edition with its enhanced specification is great value for money at £23,900 on-the-road – the same price as a standard Mazda RX-8 (231ps) model with leather trim and impressive resale values.
As well as delivering sensational performance and great value, the Mazda RX-8 Evolve also brings customers a touch of exclusivity. Just 500 units (400 in Copper Red and 100 in Phantom Blue) of this special edition will be available in the UK from later this month.
Mazda RX-8 Evolve is set to build on Mazda's growing reputation as Britain's best loved sports car manufacturer with the Mazda RX-8 voted ‘Best Coupé 2006’ by the influential What Car? magazine last month along with the Mazda MX-5 as Best Open Top. Since launch more than 16,300 RX-8s have been delivered to customers in the UK.

I think Greddy do a low pressure turbo kit of some kind, & a couple of peeple have supercharged them, but the Renesis engine in the RX8 is different to the old turbo'd 13B... I dont know much, but I dont think the new engine was designed to be turbocharged to any great extent, so anyone who does is gonna have to spend a fair bit on further R&D.....
