Ford stereo codes
Does anyone know where I can get hold of the keycode for my stereo? (preferably for free ). It's about time I got the stereo working in my Mondeo as it hasn't done since I bought it 3 months ago. I have found a programme but when I enter my serial code and model number it comes back with a code that starts with a 9, yet the numbers on the stereo only go up to 6

I presume when u entered ur serial number and code u got a 4 DIGIT code beginning with 9?
If so, on ur stereo u have the buttons numbered 1-6 which r presets for ur radio. Do the folowing:
For example of ur code is 4321
1. Pwr up the stereo, it will ask for the CODE
2. Press the number 1 button 4 times
3. Press the number 2 button 3 times
4. Press the number 3 button 2 times
5. Press the number 4 button 1 time
I think u get the drift
After u have have entered the final code i think u have to press the AM/FM button
Hope this helps

Thanks for the help people. khingers, that would explain the 9 then .
After some more digging I think my stereo is locked, as the dashes are not flashing and it's not allowing me to enter the code. If I remember many years ago when I owned my old XR2's I had to leave the stereo switched on for an hour to allow it to reset?
