Good RWD cheap car for Learner
What's a good, cheap, reliable Rear Wheel drive car for a learner driver - should be cheap to run and insure but have some 'fun' element about it...

My first car was a Porsche 924.
Cheap(ish) to run but not to insure (£750 TPF&T when I was 23)
Other than that try a Capri, an Alfa 75 (not that reliable though) a 320 BMW,
Skoda Rapid etc

Old vauxhall chevette, or opel kadett, any Mk 1 or 2 escort, capri, talbot sunbeam, or avenger, there must be some of these around on fleebay.

Not many of these suggestions can be bought for £400 and if they could a 17 year old couldn't insure them 
Even a crappy sierra would cripple a 17 year old for insurance 
It's got to be a 1.3 mark 2 escort but even bad condition 4 door ones are going to cost nearly the budget
