Hi there,
I am looking to spend in or around 30k on a 4x4 for the mr's an we both like these cars.
The X5 will probably be a 53 plate with below 30k miles & the VW an 05/55
Anyone got any pointers ??
Hopefully going to go test drive in the next week or so

The 3.0 V6 TDI Touareg is streets ahead of the 2.5.

I`m not sure how much they are as they`re relatively new, I`d go for an X5 3.0d over a 2.5 Touareg though.

41k new for the touareg 3.0 V6, your right about streets ahead. Test drove it today & was instantly converted.

You can allways get the 2.5 toureg chipped up to close the margin power wise but it will allways be a bit more rattley as its only a five cylinder. I prefer the toureg to the X5. Its a proper off roader for one and the interior is far nicer plus it doesnt quite have the footballers wives image of the X5. The X5 is certainly a better road car but the toureg is hardly embarrased and definately performs on road well enough for most peoples requirements. Whose going to be hammering around the corners in one of these anyway so id rather have the supple ride of the toureg as opposed to the stiff X5. Depends what you need it for. If you are venturing off road ( does anyone actually do this ) then forget the X5. As said before though even if not going off road I still think the toureg is a nicer place to be.
