Default anyone know anything about bmw's? non starter

been in and out my workshop every day but just now went to start it and put ign on dash light etc comes on and the computer bongs, basicly theres no starter?

its a 328 cab bmw 1997 i know there funny old things even for somin silly like leaving a bonnet open i tried locking unlocking etc

its vertually out of fuel but cant see the car not letting me start it cause of no fuel lol

any ideas?

oh it gets jump started as batterys flat but not been a problem for last few weeks

does it have the computer below the stereo? if so unplug it and have a go, I had the e36 coupe, it often made that noise, just unplugged it and it worked

im no electrician and couldnt explain it then, so dont ask now

yes it has the full electric obc pack

funnily enought now you mention it we had a e36 before that occasionally went all funny went conecting battery the immob activated etc


so i presume your thinking the standard code entered immobilser on the computer? ill try it in morn

I don't know anything about BMWs but I know you should at least attempt to post things in the right forum sometime

Try leaving the battery to charge up for a bit before starting. The ECU can be very sensitive to low battery voltage. My old man's 750il used to run on 6/12 cylinders if the battery was fairly flat!

well theres no liove going to the starter when cranking
this is obv a std immmobiliser problem thats occured
