From doing a quick search (bored at work) I've found that the 4.0 has 131Kw (235bhp i think) and 301 Nm (221lbs/ft) cannot find any thing on performance stats but given the low power (for a 4.0) and high weight of the things they ain't gonna set the world alight with their acceleration.

Hope it helps.

cool, cheers matey. Thats quite poor power figures for a 4.0 isnt it! Are they actually any good for taking off-road, or are they more suited to mothers and school runs?

Hi Rob

Don't quote me but the 0-60 of the hi output is 8.0 ( or very close to) which aint bad for a big 4x4. and tourquey so ok on the move

No they do not make big bhp as std but then asgain the yanks arn't too fussed, if they want more bhp they build bigger engines. However the engine will go on for 100's ot 1000's of miles.

A mate has one with 118k miles on the clock and going strong. He drives it carfeully and gets 28mpg on a run but around 14-19mph in town.

Ah, ha it was the 4.7 V8 hi outpiut(in yank terms - BHP per Cube C) version that is 220+BHP and a decent 0-60 they also do a 5.2 litre version if the other is not big and gas guzzling enough

the 4.0l is a V6 single cam from memory and around 185BHP.
Not quick off of the mark but ok once moving

I had a 3.7 V6 to drive whilst in the states and loved it!

A 4.7 Hi output that produces 220bhp it's got to be a joke

That must be what i found the figures for, sorry to get your hopes up

As for they go on forever, my boss has a 51 plate grand Cherokee with 150k on the clock the engine is good (Mercedes diesel) but the interior is showing everyone of the miles.

Had one b4 the scoob, about 180bhp and very thirsty, but a nice drive and quick for it's size, and good value for money, if you get an lpg your onto a winner

They're dead torquey. Drive one without looking at the rev counter and wait till it sounds lke you're thrashing it then look at what revs you're doing, it's usually less than 2500 Awful, awful mpg though (like 17mpg in Driving Miss Daisy mode)
