Is he a pimp? Theyre more akin to a ****e GM SUV than a HumVee. Theyve licenced the name, copied the grille and have a GM engine and thats about all they have in common with a real 'Hummer'.

Terrible vehicles. It's a Chevy Tahoe wearing fancy dress. And if the exterior isn't bad enough the interior is cramped and looks cheap. The H3 is no better.
If you're going to get a Hummer, get a real one. The H1 Alpha is very nice but costs twice as much and some.

Funny how there lots of opinion and only one with any actual experience!
I have driven one for three days, when my wife was lent one by a client. It is possibly the funniest car I have ever driven! The reaction from other drivers is something you will love or hate - but you will certainly get a reaction. I can't imagine how it would be possible to live with one in the UK, as even here with a more 'American' road system they seem to large. Trying to park is pretty difficult, unless you can use the 'Mother + Baby' parking spaces! The cars are not as solid as they appear, and none of the owners here would consider taking them into the desert (where the weapon of choice is either a Land Cruiser or Patrol)
They are susprisingly small inside, and the interior was very plastic and squeaky.
I'd still love to have one though!

A hummer, LOL.Why?
I can truly say they are only fun when they have a grenade launcher mounted on top,is your mate getting this "optional extra"?If not id rather drive a smart car.

They were HumVees that Jack Clark and myself referred to; they use a GM 6.5l V8 diesel engine. As Jack has said the 'Hummer H2' is little more than a dressed up GM SUV; theyve (General Motors) licensed the 'Hummer' name and copied the grille but theyve little in common with the real thing. A reasonable 1995 civilian H1 HumVee can be bought for $18,000 and theyll last forever.....

Great if you're in downtown Bahgdad, but I couldn't imagine trying to drive one around Scotland. Good for the motorways or posing around Glesgae though.

I've seen plenty over here, and they are very badly made. None of the panels seem to fit on any of them!!!!
Ive driven plenty of the US Army Spec hummers with optional 50cal. Machine gun or Grenade launchers!
They really are the biggest pile of crap ever!!!!!!
They are slow, cant handle, when you go round corners the doors fly open, can only fit 4 people cause the gearbox is housed in the cabin and are crap off road!
Give me a good old Landie any day!!!!
Even the US Special Forces now use Landrover 110 Wolf Defenders!
