Cor i wish my mates pug 106 gti turbo was as good as your saxo turbo..... his conversion took approx 10 months to do at pug performance, loads of excuses and shoddy work, cars still not running 200bhp!!!! its getting remapped again.

lol, pug performance in the Pug/Cit community are generally laughed at. Their timescales are a joke and the workmanship is usually pretty poor as well!

That wil be one quick, sorry, is one quick motor....

anyone fancying a track car with some real good capabuilitys??? (sp)

My mate has done a 2.0 turbo 205. at the moment, its running 180bhp. not the best but this has in no way been what we might call tuned. Its got the FMIC on, but its also got an omex ECU which has already been fitted, mapped and is now back in the box as he decided to sell the car.

Very fast even as it stands now. It was a Peugeot clinic conversion, (i think, dont quote me on that) and is a very tidy and clean looking car. Get in touch if anyone fancies a bargin...

Why is it that no-one ever moves when caught by a quicker car? Really gets my goat. They look in the mirror, see you coming, see you catch them, then try to out accelerate you or out drive you.......The reason they have caught you is they are quicker, move early, let the quicker car get on with his lap and you too ........Rant over

Good video and a quick little car .......

No reason why anyone should slate any car being driven like that on-track IMHO. Its good to see someone out there doing his stuff in what looks quite a formidable car.

Looks good, strugling for grip on WOT on the exits but thats to be expected I suppose. IME turbo cars are not really suited to track work, its not to bad if you are weaving in and out of traffic on a busy track day but if you want to put a few hot laps in the turbo is not really going to help that much - IMHO of couse - and no doubt this is not just a track car.

The problem with other people on track is they sometimes have little track experiance so the red mist comes down a bit, I like to hang back and give them a quick flash of main beam just to get their attention if I am on a hot lap, I find this works 9 times out of 10.

He caught up with the TVR and the other cars fairly easy but didnt seem to gain much on the other saxo, then the video cuts to another scene, did he have difficulty catching a non-turbo saxo?

Give a decent driver anything within reason and he will lap most of the stuff out on the track because most folks arent as good drivers as they think and the drivers probably even more important than the car,,,,ill bet if that normal saxo had a vid on board he could do all the same manouevres,,if the other saxo was standard then he was a much better driver than the one doing the video imo,,didnt look anything special to me tbh.

nice of you to post this up marc

few things missing of the spec list but not to worrie.

i`d like to add that previous sessions i`d had a big off circa 65mph finishing at most a foot off a tyre wall and also collected three "bollards" from another grass tracking experience so pushing the boundries was not the plan of action for the session video`d.

as regards my driving this was the first time i`d driven the car in well over 18months and was more of a shakedown come re-acquaintence,lol. i`d also booked myself into the novice group(although advanced are also in the session on vid) as track experience in this car is nil. i planned to hopefully learn plenty from the day which i did especially after my pre booked driver tuition.

i`m not sure why the video jumps just as i`m catching the blue vts

it`s also hard to tell from the video footage but the track is very damp due to constant misty drizzle all day, that was practicly the only "dry" session.

all said i appreciate any comments so long as constructive.

What's the grindy/graunchy sound the car makes on the down shifts particularly in the first half of the clip? Is it clutch related or something?

I've taken my virtually standard VTS round tracks quicker than TVR's and stuff. Don't forget, a VTS is a lot cheaper to crash than a porker, tvr, etc. and that does show through on the track.
