Default Civic EK4 Type R available in uk???

In Japan and Hong Kong you could purchase a civic typre R in 1998-2000 in the EK4 shape. Very fast cars, 190HP I believe.

Are they available here?? If so, where?

The model you mean is the ek9 civic type r, a few have been imported into the country but are very rare. they come with 182 bhp. You can no longer import them into the uk as there is no model report available. i think the production ran from 97-00.

very fast for a NA 1.6!!!! with a very high specific output, low torque though which is always the trade off with high revving small capacity cars

be warned you do get alot of them EK4's wanting to be a EK9, simple really to change it cosmetically, lip (front and rear), spoiler and the grille.

These are the two I found - they look genuine enough but one is a fresh import which is strange.

PS: these are not links to autotrader, just to pictures

Red was definately made mate, really not sure about blues though.
