My wife finnaly killed the interior door release on my seat toledo,

and after scouring scrappys , had no option but to go to the main dealer.....

after some time of going through screens, he tapped the screen, ang gave me the thats the one look...

some furious scribbling later, he had some numbers on a pad,... he looked perplexed, and pottered off to see his coleague...

is that price right i heard him say to his mate showing him the bit of paper..

his mate looked at the paper and at me.. if thats what it says, then thats the price.


the guy ambled back and told me it would take a couple of days to come in...

And told me the price............................................. ..............................

so with no option i ordered it, hoping to god that the price was correct any more and it would be a right 2/8 with her indoors

anyway, i went in yesterday and it was there,,,, the salesman was abit concerned, that they had got the right side,, fortunatly he had....

then came the bill time......


you,d better sit down said the salesman,

i sat down figuring that the price had been wrong and my cc was due to get a big hammering...


"sorry sir, the salesman said, looks like my coleague made a mistake and forgot to add the vat to the price he quoted..."

talk about gobsmacked, i was expecting at least £30 notes, and to tell the truth so was i, i was convinced matey boy had made a mistake when he quoted me in the first place.

Thants the cheapest one i,ve ever seen he said,

and it wasnt just the handle, it was the recess,and all the hinge bits too in chrome.

and to make it very easy, all the handles are the same, so if any of the others go, i can replace them easliy

If it'd been a larger item, I would have argued that you bought it at the price quoted.... and that the extra that the colleague forgot to put on for VAT wasnt your problem, but I'm a stereotypical tight Scotsman.

Still, for 8 quid who cares...

Renault have ramped up the prices of thes silver inserts on the doors on the early 172s as the laquer starts to peel, they used to be 12 quid the pair, now 68!
