Default clio williams

hi guys just wondering what the opinions of the williams are. im going to buy an absolute minter n plate williams 3 only 49000mls on the clock and full renault history from new. its mainly for my wife to drive but i will also occasionaly be driving it. its the nicest example ive seen no rust anywhere rear arches immaculate previous owners had them waxoilyed as thats where they can go. ive had a test drive and the handling is amazing, so nible and no body roll was really impressed, torquey engine as well. so should i take the plunge?

You get what you pay for. Pay top money, you'll get a better car.
Doesn't sound too bad to me

Thumbs up

I owned a williams 2 a few years back and still miss it to this day. £5000 is a lot of money but they hold their value pretty well and are coming few and far between now, id have to say buy it if its as clean and honest as you say, they are fantastic cars and handle like a go-kart. I will say though watch out for oil consumption these things love it and check the oil pressure gauge on start up if its low stay away. Another week point are the engine mounts boot it in 2nd and then back off if theirs exsessive movment on the gear stick they may need replacing and it isnt cheep hope that helps.

I have a Williams 2 and personally I wouldn't pay that unless it was a Williams 1. You will be able to get the seller down I think. Either way your buying a future classic tho and the handling is absolutely amazing, once you get it I would replace the springs, shocks and bottom ball joints tho as they are usually worn and the difference it made when I did mine was incredible. They are also very easy to tune and get good gains out of the engine. 260 degree cams turn them into a bit of a beast... 200bhp per ton is easy to achieve on these cars
