I'll compromise and say the 6 speed 306 is the best hot hatch ever made.
Once mine is sorted, it wouldn't make any odds if it started life as a Rallye or a '6.

Why???
Most quality car mags/books/people have voted consistantly for the Golf GTi.

So why is it still slower than mine then? Oh and it has a few more years to go until it proves its reliability the same as mine too.

A gold R plate went on Ebay the other night for £2400. It looked mint, with 17 alloys, lowered, gas flowed head etc etc. Was tempted to bid on it!

In which case I take the civic Typre-R......But then again it has (according to reviews) a duff steering feel and a somewhat irregular ride (made worse with the crappy OE tyres).
So I fall back to the car with no flaws. The Luuuurvely GTi-6. No negatives.
