Another what car question
I may be in the market for a toy/weekend car in the next couple of months.
It has to be
So far I am considering a TVR Griffith or Chimaera , Porsche 968 Sport or maybe a 964, Lotus Elise/Vx220.
Thought about a Skyline but it wouldn't fit in my garage :-( the wife hates the image of M3's and I nearly fainted when I saw the running costs of a Ghibli.
So the question is anything else I should consider?
Thanks
Mark
It has to be
- fast
- RWD or 4WD
- 2 doors (coupe or softtop)
- vaugely practical e.g. have a lockable boot
- cost between £10 and £15k and
- feel special (whatever that means)

£15k puts you into S2000 territory, if you want something reasonably solid.
More reliable than the TVR, and a lot less to run than the Porsche or TVR.
Given its a weekend car predominantely thou, id say the Elise is your best bet, insurance friendly, 1.8l fuel bills, and good fun, so probably fits the bill, providing straight line speed isnt your thing.
Either that, or get a TT RX7, and get some serious RWD performance, and cost.
