how do you recode a keyfob on a vectra?

Default how do you recode a keyfob on a vectra?

my lady friend has a vectra, its a p reg car anyway she has been using keys to open and close doors etc but in glove box today we found a remote keyfob for the central locking-the lites on keyfob lite up when buttons are pressed but wont operate doors-so im guessing it has to be recoded to car-how do you do this on a vectra please?

Should be a bit about doing that in the owner's handbook I think, it involves operating the fob close to the pickup aerial in the car but I can't remember it all accurately.

i think u put the key in and sitch the ignition on (so that the dash lights came on), progamming mode activated for 30 seconds, with the remote control inside the car depress lock or unlock button, central locking system operates to indicate correct synchronization.... thats what the book says anyway???
