One of the remote locking/unlocking plippers (if that is the right word) hasn't been used for ayear with no battery. Dealer fitted new battery today but it did not work. Does it need to be recoded or do I need to buy a new one as the dealer suggested. If I buy a new one then presumably this has to be coded for my car so perhaps recoding the old one will work. Any one have similar problem?

I had this problem with our spare keys, they do not get used that much. It was a simple case of recoding them, it should state the correct procedure in your alarm manual.
