Would go with DMS, they did my old man's old Jeep, and it was SOOOOO much better - they do chips for The ML270 engine (as that is the engine in the old man's new Jeep Grand) and increases are pretty good!

Look in this months Evo for what they can do to the BM 535d!

I would give DMS a full thumbs up too. They did my E320CDi up to 250bhp and 600Nm. Guy turned up, plugged in his laptop, downloaded the program into the Merc ECU, drank my tea, took my dosh and that was it. Economy about the same (32ish on average, 38 on a run), flexibility and acceleration way up (6.5 to 60 in a 2 tonne estate). The only down side is that when you really boot it it smokes like a 15 year old taxi... No reliability problems in 55,000 miles

@ Scoobytom -- 600nm

I bet that's fun for overtaking

Does the traction control light EVER switch off with that much torque? That's 430lb-ft!!!

Uncle has an E220CDi and has a Dragon Performance tuning box from mr hoot. a noticable increase in power with no noticable increase in smoke.

Yep,

I also have one on my Octavia and a workmate has one on his Megane.

Try one and if it's not what you want send it back, they come with a 30 day moneyback offer.

Keep checking ebay, most Auctions go for less than £200 and some as low as £150.

Talking

The Guys at "the Racing line" have the software which covers the Mercedes range and also all the VAG group. Generic "off the shelf" chips are available but the ones to go for are the custom maps set up on there Dyno Dynamics dyno to suit your car £550 for the chip / remap including set-up & rolling road time. They also give you a before & after graph Give them a call on 01274 881106.

Believe it or not, because of the high torque I rarely need to use more than 25% throttle. I think that that is why the consumption is so good. On the rare occasions I forget the yellow traction control light stays firmly on

When timing the car to 60 I used a private road, diengaged the traction control, stood on the brake with my left foot and took the engine to 3000rpm before letting go of the brake. The wheels were still spinning at 60 - lol :0

The bit I didn't mention is that the suspension and steering are seriously soft (even on the 'sporty' Avantgarde model); so it's all OK on a straight line and then hang onto something as it lurches into a corner amid huge understeer. Don't even thnik about what happens when you hit a bump mid corner ...
