Default Details on Volvo V70R awd

As above really have a work colleague just purchased above car and when asked claimed to be 380bhp.

Could anyone give me some possible details and how it would compare say against mine: MY00+PPP Vortex Decat Centre.

Appreciate any info.

Think a V70R is 250 bhp as standard

They were slower I beleive than a standard T5 due to the extra weight and drag of the 4wd system, they are tunable but 380 bhp sounds a bit much, possible for a lot of money but about 280/300 is possible on the standard turbo without going to mega expense.

265 as standard I believe. Exhaust, filter and chip gets you about 320bhp so add an I/C, bigger turbo and fueling and 380 would be in your sights I reckon.

There are a couple of T5R websites which should help. Saw one at Power Engineering hit 175mph on the rollers after it had been de-limited and running Heico ECU upgrade, etc - alot were in the 300bhp (flywheel) region on the day.
I am not sure I would rate your chances very high once he got his giant wardrobe moving...until you got to the twisties......

Hi

Being a Volvo guru, i can confirm that a 2004 on V70R is 300hp standard. I trip to http://www.volvotuninguk.com will see 340hp and add a panel filter and turbo back exhaust including sports cat should be 360, a cheeky intercooler may see 370-380 however the internals are getting weak at this point and will need uprating, but over 400hp is possible, but 340hp will cost £600 400hp may cost £5000 !?!? Either way a 340hp car could achieve 6 to 60mph 13 1/4 14 to 100 and 125 mph in <20 seconds. I love em !!

However if it is not the new model V70R awd, then it is 265 hp standard and 310hp on a map and up to 350hp with a turbo map and exhaust, mabe 360 with a i/c however you will need a full drive train refurb at each 5k service as well as an internal rebuild. But the 2.3 T5 2wd will handle 300-340 easily.......

But to answer your question, i don't know enough about scoobies, but my mates classic with 265hp could stick with my 300+hp (non proven) auto 850T5 to 100 then i started to pull away. I have raved my mate lots in his 850R with 340 (proven) hp and i stick with him to 120 when he starts to pull and then at 140 he manages to start pulling rapidly.

Hope that helps

Andy

the standard s60 R, already does 0-60 5.5secs, 0-100 14/13.5secs

so the v70 r is only going to be 0.5 sec slower

a 350 hp R is going to be faster still

and its good in the twistys, well my s60 r is good anyhow!

Just clicked that link & checked out my XC70 D5 & its possible for an increase from 163 - 198 BHP & (get this) a rise from 340 ft/lb to 435

Now it may be a diesel & 0-60 is not particularly fast but on the motorway there is bags of torque & really fast in-gear acceleration but a 33% increase

Bugger - you are so right

It's still 320 ft/lb up from 250 though - that's more than PTMW! had even after decat, turbo & remap.

Very tempting for £590 inc VAT...
