Default MK2 Golf Gti

has anyone got or owned one of these???

i have just sold my Audi A6 and i need a cheap fun little car that wont cost a bomb to run also i can get it insured under cherished car insurance for around 200 quid.

What are they like? i am not interested in the 16v just the 8v as i like my kicks low down!

Thanks chaps!

My Fiancee had one but she had the 16 valve. It was a good car and definately becoming a classic. You will need to look hard to find a good one and it'll probably cost quite a bit for a decent one these days too but if you keep it in that order you can't lose

I've got one, and it's my 3rd. I can thoroughly recommend them! The 8v does make for a slightly more sensibale and satisfying daily driver. Buy the best one you can find, maintain it well, and it should give you years of reliable, fun motoring.

Try www.volkswizard.co.uk or www.golfsgalore.com for top-notch examples.

Here's my current one ...
