Galant V6
i'm thinking of getting a new car, my budget is £5-6k and restricted to no more than group 14 insurance due to age/location/experience. I'm currently looking at 2000 reg Galant V6s. whats your opinions, any recommendations ?

The old mans got a 2002 Galant V6 elegance triptronic
Comes with leather interior, 17's, VR4 bumpers, handles quite well for a big saloon. Sounds quite nice on full chat, so I expect it would sound quite lush with an airfilter/exhaust
The only problem he's had since new is a slight gearbox vibration.
Not to sure on the running costs, but they are a hell of a lot of car for the money.

Hi, we've had a MY00 V6 estate for 2 years now, bought with 40k, now got 60k. It's still got 1 year of the Red Zebra warranty left and then it'll be replaced by another, in all probability. Ours is auto, and was flat when we got it. However, the 'box learns your driving style, and if you cane it for a while it gets significantly quicker. It had a leaky rack replaced under warranty, at 52k, no quibbles. Unless IS200 3 litre Sportcross prices drop in the next year, we can't think of anything else we'd replace it with. Happy customer. Can't think of a reason not to buy one, if that's your market.

I had a 2000 2.5 V6 estate and we found it wallowed a bit - kids got ill in it regularly (although that could have been their age). Otherwise well built, great space, and very very comfortable. Overall was fairly pleased with it but the wife wrapped it round a tree so we bought a Legacy.
