Hi Chief
Cairan,
like Cupra has said, 1.8T quattro is 180bhp standard will chip to 210-220bhp, S3 210/225bhp standard will chip to 260-275bhp.
its not just power where the S3 is better though the standard spec is miles better, and well worth the extra ~£3000 when new, although i imagine now that the S3 holds more of a premium over the 1.8TQ
Electric Recaros in Leather/Alcantara
Xenon Headlights
17" Alloys
Uprated and lower suspension
Flared Arches front and rear
Climate Control
ESP (on facelift models)
different front and rear bumpers
lots of nice S3 badges

I had both, get the S3. simple as that. Much more kit, better drive and a much better pride of ownership factor, 1.8T Q is, on the face of it, a bit boring. I have had a 1.8T, 1.8T Q and then 2 S3's, the S3 was so much better car, plus you'll be glad of the elec Recaro's ans Xenons as standard.
