I had one for 3 years.
Plus points:
Love the looks
Love the interior
Supremely reliable (still drove like new with 75,000 on the clock)
Engine sounds nice
Good handling (not in Scoob league, though)
Bad points:
Gutless engine
VVT kicks in at 4500rpm, rev limiter kicks in at 6500 and changing gear drops you out of the VVT zone
Fuel consumption was never better than 27mpg even on a run which would be OK if it wasn't so damn slow. 0 - 60 is 9.5 seconds. A 2 litre Vectra or Mondeo is quicker and gives better mpg.
Utterly devoid of any real character, I got bored of it very quickly.
I'd have one again but it would have to be the IS300 but they don't come with a manual gearbox

I test drove one before I got my scoob and was impressed by the equipment levels and comfort. (The Missus loved the heated seats )
Very easy to drive (if you know what I mean), but have to agree that the engine wasn't up to much and expected a bit more ooomph when I saw the mpg's. Although is nice enough if you aren't bothered by 0-60.
Maybe the IS300 is better for performance.

My boss is on his second now - had one, then part-exed it.
The one he has now's the one with the body kit - I forget what they call it, but it's a pretty nice looking thing, esp in bright red.
I'd say perhaps one thing to watch is the depreciation. See what it'll be worth in a year or so, unless you're planning to keep it 'till you fall through the bottom...
