Beat me to it!!

Due to larger injectors if I believe. UK car is unlike most other Jap equivalents alot better.

UK cars have bonnet vent as standard.

Bo selecta.

Neither is better than the other, there are reasons to go for both. In Stage 1 or "BPU" guise they both still make around 400bhp despite the Jspecs smaller injectors. The UK is heavier (part of which being the *****'s they stuck on the front bumper!), the jspec car has ceramic turbos, they ultimately can't take the boost the UK's can. However because they are ceramic in a slightly lighter car they spool quicker, giving power quicker and making a better daily driver and thus theoretically faster than the UK until you get in serious licence losing territory!

Both are great cars and either would suit. Besides, if you wanted big power, say 500 plus you'd need to do a fair bit to either car, so the injectors/turbos of the Jspec wouldn't really matter!!! Another difference is the Jspec uses MAP for air flow and the UK's use MAF.

Ummmm...late spec or uk/JDM have four pot bigger brakes etc. Not sure which-do your research as there are differences.

late spec JDM cars can come with 2 pot or 4 pot brakes, no way of knowing for certain what it will have on. General guide is if it has 16" wheels then its going to be 2 pot. If its a UK spec then it will always have 4 pot brakes and 17" wheels.

Best bet (and Im giving Jawa stares here cos he normally does this bit ) is to head over to www.mkivsupra.net/vbb and ask some questions on there. The specs on www.supra.co.uk are a little out of date now, I wrote those many moons ago and they were updated for www.mkivsupra.net and have been superceeded again now.

Import spec and UK spec cars do behave quite differently, try and drive both if you can. And dont write off the auto over a 6sp, I have owned both and would happily swap back to an auto (although I would go for a late spec VVTi tiptronic now...and then fit a single turbo, but thats just me)

Not to mention that the UK spec suspension is softer than the Jap Spec Sups.....

Brakes....may be an easy swap but not cheap at that

Approximately half the price of a Brembo kit and just as good if not better at stopping I got mine done for 900 all in, fitted myself and it was a doddle.
It would have been 700 ish if I hadn't gone for braided hoses, race fluid and fast road pads too............

The stock UK brakes are very very good....my Jspec has the uk calipers and stops on a six pence....

plus the braided hoses really do improve the feel of the pedal..not to mention the motul fluid
