Audi A6 4.2 Quattro
Anyone got any experience of the above? Looking for a fast, good handling, more refined replacement for the Impreza and I like the idea of a 300bhp V8 plus 4 wheel drive and more toys than you can shake a stick at.
I'm guessing reliability is pretty good, but what are servicing costs like compared to Scoob prices? I can live with the same, but not more!
I'd be looking for ~MY2000 model if I can find one with less than 50k on the clock.

Well although i dont own the 4.2 i have the 2.8 quattro but what i have heard the 4.2 is a quick machine but they are loads heavier than a Scoob and to be honest you can really feel the weight when hustling through bends and braking etc. also even my 2.8 can get thirsty (like 18mpg) when pushing on but they are really reliable and are a nice place to be inside of.
If you can stretch to it what about an S6 as these are meant to have stiffer suspension and are a bit more of a sporty arttitude about them.
Better still buy mine for 4 grand and drop in an RS6 engine

have you checked out the S4? My dad was looking at the A6 4.2 and I forced him into a testdrive of the S4. he fell in love. S4 vs A6, DEF. pick the S4 if your a car enthusiast.
You can probably get an S4 for a good deal less than the A6 4.2, then add a chip/downpipes and you have a real beast on ur hands!! If anything, get an A6 2.7T and work from there. Or an RS4/S6 if you got the green!
