Magnetic induction via the tape slot sounds crap, you are missing lots of the dynamic range, have a poor S/N ratio etc. Do you really want wires everywhere in your lovely M5? Get a Dension Ice link and do it properly, if it will interface with your M5's stereo that is. Have a look on Densions website.

There is a headunit that allows direct connection to an IPOD (so I have heard) not sure what it is. Whatever you do, dont buy the radio transmitters avaible from eBay etc. I did, and it was terrible.

I would look at an Itrip. TBH, hte sound is very good, but you've GOT to go hunting for a totally empty radio frequency.
Also, let's put this into persepctive. The FM frequency responses to go up to about 16-17 KHz (The IPod will do up to 20KHz).
With all the cabin/engine/road noise, you won't really notice any difference at all, after all, with all due resepct, even though it IS an M5 , it isn't an acoustically perfect environment for listening to music (which is what bemuses me about people who spend ŁKKKK on sound proofing etc, just to make their cars heavy and slow)
For the cheap option, have a look at that combined ITrip/and lighter charger - will also keep the Ipod topped up
OR if you've got loadsa money, look at the Dension link - it IS good, but you pay a premium for it
