Default Audi A6

A friend is looking for a new car and in particular the Audi A6 ( used ).

Does anybody have any experience of these cars? Questions in particular are Tip or manual? and 1.8T or 2.3

cheers

A6 is too heavy for such a weak engine as 1.8T (even if remapped), he should look for bigger one... I test-drove A6 1.8T and it was slow as s**t... i would recommend 2.3 or 2.5TDi... or if he has enough cash and doesnt mind mpg - 2.7T is a real butcher

VAG never learned how to make a proper automatic until they came out with DSG, get manual... Tiptronic is reeeaaaally slow when it comes to overtaking - it is typical "motorway transmission", really rubish on B-roads...

That's a lovely looking car. I'd go for a 3.0 TDI.
