Default 3 Series Launch at Rockingham

Did anyone go? We went on Saturday and it was great. The lunch, the attitude of the staff were excellant. The car was great too. 330i is a rapid little bugger and not bad for 28k. (basic)

Been today, just got back......staff were excellent, whole day was very well organised. Must have cost BMW a mint on the initial outlay, guy running the restaurant said they'd done 5000 covers this weekend!

I was there on Saturday afternoon. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Thought the new 3 was a great looking car and the 330i that I drove felt very nice. Liked the non-active steering and the new 3 litre six is a very nice motor. Sounded great at max chat.

Still not convinced by the quality of the interior plastics. Certainly not as well put together as my E46. Standard leather is grainy compared to the nappa in mine. Would cost me about £10-£11k to trade up to a 330i of the same spec as my 330d. It's not worth it IMHO. My 330d felt as quick as the 330i on my way home.

All in all, a very nice car, and way better looking than its big brothers.

I'll be going to the southern launch on Thursday at Somerly House. I've had a few 3 series before and liked them. But as I now drive a 996, I'm going for the free lunch and champers only Would love to drive the new M5 if it's there.
