Escort Cossie gave me a fright!
....So I gave him one back
I over took a couple of cars on the downs this morning only to have the blue oval up my chuff from nowhere. Jeeesssuuuuss Chriiiiiist it came by me fast and dissapered up the road in a cloud of blue and grey exhaust smoke -phsschuuut!
I recovered quickly and thought I can't have that, can I? Planted right foot into carpet and gave chase. Beautiful Cossie broke hard for slight left, in fact very hard giving me a huge braking closing manouver. Next minute I'm on his tail but he's buried the loud pedal and another plume of smoke see's him build another convincing gap...
Next corner and again the over braking then a bit of uneven, jiggly road section see's him bounce and bob all over the place - oh dear! Time to see what he's made of and close on him again. He must be hanging on for dear life by now - why doesn't he concede and let me past? Even at 100kph he's wrestling the beast from the edge of oblivion and I'm almost feeling sorry for him.
Surely it's not that bad a defeat to let me past? After all I'm driving one of Hyundai's finest powerhouse 2.0ltr coupe's today

Compared to what?!!!
I accept that the Recaro seats are viewed by some as "decent" but the rest is complete junk!
1.4 Popular interior with white dials, big **** off airbag and a few extra gauges......

Being a bit of a rally slag...realistically a cossie is the ONLY car that would tempt me away from buying another scooby, the clincher would be if a mint RS500 turned up...

I'd love one...
I remember taking my Gf's brother out shopping for a WRX and we ended up at Well Lane one afternoon. Stood in front of a WRX classic and his 'helpful' wife was saying she didn't like it because "it looks like an Escort.."
Parked next to it was a gorgeous Escort Cosworth Lux so I pointed at it and said, "What about that? Does that look like an Escort?"
"No, that's nice," she replied, to much laughter from those guys who were in earshot and had been listening to her compare Scoobs and Escorts.

Perhaps some infra red goggles too because that smoke sure gets thick!

Certainly Flloyd, just need to say hello.
Not as fast as Mikes car, but pretty nippy.
See you Saturday.
Dave.

Yes, let's not get started on interiors, eh?
If I was a collector, a mint, standard, Escort cossie would be in my Garage. So would the Sierra, for that matter.
