Decent high performance Ferrodo pads .......... £76 for the full front and rear set ....... It costs me that much just to talk to a scooby parts dept let alone actually order anything

Go into speed order, discounts are applied as well. The 330mm AP 4 pot pads are DP3002C, MY99/00 UK rear are DP31293C, 330mm AP 6 pot pads are DP3005C. All are EBC Ceramic red. Confirm your exact part numbers rather than taking these as gospel.

Tis a bit dearer if you have OEM 4 pots not AP 4 pots, c. £100 vs £40. I just love AP brakes, they are such good quality, my calipers are ancient and have been on a few different cars and they are stunning with new discs and pads just fitted.
Best things I've had on my car I would say are the AP brakes, the P1 suspension and the AVC-R.

Ive tried the old red stuff in my scoob and destroyed them in a weekend. Right down to the metal.
Use Ferrodo on the pug and they seem the business DS2500 for me. Cheaper than mintex 1166, half the price actually.
Are you there on 26th?

Thanks for advicing Phil on the phone today. He got a bit of a panic call from me as I was at work and had no access to the Internet
Is there a quick way to check what calipers I'm running? I.E, is it as simple as the make should be on there somewhere? If not, what should I look for?
I think I owe you a 1.5 litre bottle of Coke now

The mintex 1166 were also £144 front and £70 rear .... for that reason DS2500 will be on my car for a while

you'll never need 1166's on a 205 as so light. 1155's (as on mine) will be all u ever need, and are much cheaper than 1166's.
I strongly recommend you reconsider ds2500s, as i think 1155's will suit u better. I have experience of both

Sean....
I was looking at the 1166's as thats what the rally boys use in their 205's so I thought I would give them a try. The price did a good enough job of changing my mind though.
The DS2500 will last me a fair while if the last set is anything to go by, but when they start wearing thin maybe I will try something different.
As you said though the 205 is so light that massive or super high performance brakes aren't required.
