Points to look out for........
Crap customer service!!!!!
Also my son in law working in a private garage. When Ford have a high work load here in Cardiff, they off load to them. Beware!!!!!! He says they are good motors Focus chassis is well sorted. Loads of aftermarket stuff. Beware of the front discs and pads, Price from Ford.

Have a hunt around on the web as i think there were a few disgruntled ST170 owners. I think there's a site called quirkyst170.co.uk/.com or something like that.
However, I'm sure that yours will be fine though (fingers crossed). I bought a Mondy a couple of years ago and apart from dealer hassles buying it their aftersales (i.e. servicing) has been considerably better.
Good luck and enjoy what is supposed to be a fantastic chassis

I test drove one not too long ago, 52 plate 17,000 on the clock and that was £11999 I thought it was a great handling car and had plenty of power in fact I would've bought it if it had'nt been for the salesman offering stupid money for my p/x.
I havent heard nothing but praise for this model, my only reservation was that it was almost identical to the bog standard 1.6 parked next to it but I know a lotta people like the understated looks

A friend of mine has got an 03 reg 3 dr ST170. Bought it when it was about 9mths old. So far so good. Does what it says on the box. They did consider a Honda CTR but decided they would have to buy new for fear of getting Roy Bacer's crashed n thrashed cast off. Not such a problem with the Focus.

I've had a few goes in one of these (had one for a couple of weeks recently) and they just don't feel like 170bhp.
To me there's little difference between the 170 and the standard 2L one. I thrashed the **** off the 170 I had as it was a courtesy car and was left disappointed.

Stephen, you should have bought my 2 month old Clio 182 with Cup packs.... much better all round motor than the ST170, and I'd have done you a better deal than Arnold! :rasp:
