Default BMW Servicing advice please

Hi all

Converted to the dark side and bought a e46 325ci today. I need your advice here, the car is a late 2000 model with 123k and full BMW service history, the next service due soon is an Inspection II. Do I bite the bullet and go to BMW or look for a specialist ?

If so can anyone advise on a good specialist down south ! Are Munich Legends still the daddies ???

Your help and advice is appreciated, been quoted £400 from BMW..

Thanks as always

Jason

Isle of Wight so Hampshire area or Kent as folks are in Tunbridge Wells. Munich Legends is in Sussex so again not to far.

Thanks

Good choice - I'm sure you'll love it.

Tricky choice. I keep taking my E39 528 ('99 and 120K miles) to a main dealer because once you've added in the Plus 4 discounts, I pay about the same price as a good independent in any case.

There are good and bad independents and you need to put yourself in the shoes of the chap who's going to buy your car when you move it on. Fully stamped up BMW main dealer or specialist independent service history?

Cheers

Lordlucan.
i'll tell you something nice that happened to me:
my BM was really kangarooing at 1/2 throttle and above. ('96 5 series)

i phoned bmw dealer and they wanted £60.00 per hour IIRC to diagnose the problem, regardless of if they found a fix and the time taken.

i ended up, 'cos of financial reasons taking it to a bmw specialist, who kept the car for the day, diagnosed it as a split intake pipe (hidden from view) ordered me a new one, reset all my engine management system and charged me £30 for everything (i gave the boys a crate of stella too) so now they remember me and look after my interests (and wallet)
also, another time i told them my car pulled abit randomly under heavy breaking, they said well, a new steering box is a lot of money, we can try to adjust it, but first go and get some new tyres as i did need them.(from one of his mates cash transaction etc....
anyway 4 new tyres (£200) 235/45/17 later, i never had anymore steering trouble.

again another case of beer for the guys...

look after people and they'll look after you, if you are lucky!!!

anyway, they are a BMW/Fiat specialist near Rayleigh (Essex)

Don't you mean MY Pug

Suffice to say it's been sat in the garage since I bought it . I fired it up today, started first time Insurance is going to be 225 Fully Comp. Have also bought a set of 1.9 wheels for the slicks to go on

Need to sell the Capri first

Hope to see you in February.

BTW, if there's someone on the Island who wants a Capri, you know where I am

Take it to William Jacks in sunningdale. I would not touch another BMW dealer in the south. This place sells cars to very wealthy people. The sales and service level of customer service is superb from the minute you walk in to the moment you collect your car. It is a fairly new dealership so they are still in the early days of effort and the rot that sets in to older dealerships has not yet set in.

You pay your money to have your beemer serviced and get the dealer stamp, helps your re-sale value on these type of year cars no end.
