a friend of mine recently swapped his 206 gt at a car part supplier for a pulsar gtir,i have today found out that the car was imported to england to said supplier who replaced rear quaters etc,took various add ons off and replaced knakerd gear box with one from another,which basically means it was a wreck,the lad doesnt know these details but he know does know his turbos gone pop!!!!!does anybody know if this lad has a leg to stand on?thanx in advance

If that was bought recently, then yes, under the new consumer legislation, but he's going to have to take civil action and hope the company involved is still trading come payout time. Go tell him to talk to CAB, about the car being fit for purpose.

cheers for speedy reply it was brought 2 weeks ago,i hate seen people being ripped off,especially after knowing that the gt was a right minter and hes technically ended up with a lemon!

He may only be able to claim against the turbo tho, unless he bought the car with the add ons and they were taken off after he bought it. The gearbox will go down to servicing or whatever, cos they won't sell it with a broken one will they
