brabus smart car?
does this car exist or was i following some kind of mock up last night?
came up behind it and spotted fooking great wide arches and a twin exit centre exhaust, just about spotted a little 'brabus' badge on the bootlid before this thing just took off, and i mean took off. as in off into the sunset
had my sis in the car who don't like going too fast so i left him to it, but caught up to him on a roundabout and off he went again!
is this a proper brabus edition or is someone just playing about and created something a bit bloody fast?

Brabus have been producing goodies for the likes of Mercedes Benz for years and so the original Smart was treated to a few tweaks. Naturally they've moved on to the newer Smart too.
No doubt better than standard but nevertheless it would hardly be possible to make it a barnstormer in it's true sense.

Brabus did do a run of cars that had two of the engines put together to form a V6 twin turbo, but as far as I'm lead to believe, there were only 10 built, but these were seriously quick, it could have been one of them if you live in the Milton Keynes area (Mercedes UK HQ).

Have a look here
something a bit special from Brabus !
http://www.thesmartclub.co.uk/mboardnew.html
At last weeks Essen Motorshow in Germany, Brabus launched the RCR101 Roadster Coupe.
Under the skin, the car is a standard Brabus Roadster Coupe, but Brabus have taken the car back into the workshop to give it a nice gleeming paint job in Ferrari Rosso Corsa Red (just like the V6 Bi-Turbo), add a few minor cosmetic updates, and add bespoke interior including half leather half alcantra seats, and alcantra dashboard. They have also added the V6 steering wheel, custom floor mats with the model designation embroidered onto them, alcantra door cards, and a small plaque telling you which number of the 101 cars you own.
This car also had fitted the newly released Brabus 18 inch mono-block 6 wheels.
And the price, well quite reasonable considering all the bespoke items fitted to the car - 29.900.00€ - about £20,000, so not alot more than highly spec'd up Brabus Roadster Coupe.
Only 101 examples of the RCR101 will be built, all in Left Hand Drive, but i am told will be available to UK spec if ordered.

Hope the v6 coupe has a better gearbox that the standard car. Bollox isn't the word. Change up a gear and wait.............next gear selects, but you've now dropped out of the power band as it has taken sooooo long to change up.
Great car, fab little engine that make a great noise, but truly awful gearbox.

Love the Roadster Coupes
Wouldn't spend 20k on one though, especially if all that extra was just on cosmetic stuff. Have the 101 specials got any mechanical differences?

So £16,995 for a Brabus RC then another £3k for more bling!?
I suppose they've been the other way already with the Bluewave which had everything except the Brabus engine. Still I guess it'll be a very exclusive car, especially if you manage to order one in RHD spec!

Apprently, if you chip the engine, it makes the gearchange faster (as it's somehow based on the torque), and you can also chip the actual gearbox electronics to perform the switch faster. Also, adding paddle shift makes the gearshift feel faster.
We used to have a city coupe... I really liked it, but the wife hated it, so it had to go
'Fun' handling and a great laugh IMO
(We had the passion city coupe, not the brabus)

Same here, I love the smarts but the g/f doesn't.
Rumour has it that Brabus will be doing a new remap next year that might give the Roadster close to 130bhp (from 101 it has now)

That red Brabus 101 looks a bit tarty....just a cosmetic job with no mechanical changes, except for the ridiculous 18" alloys. As it is, the 17" alloys on the standard Brabus result in some 'interesting' handling in the wet
I've been running a Brabus roadster for the past 6 months. The gear change is quicker than the standard roadster (which I ran for 9 months), and no slower changing up the box than a reasonably quick manual change.
The 0-10mph time is crap due to the launch control protecting the clutch. However, the in gear times are a lot more respectable.
I'm toying with the the idea of a remap by Ray West....just not sure about the 185bhp/litre demand on the engine!
Although not as rapid as the MY99 turbo I ran for 3 years, it is more engaging at 'sensible' speeds
