here's the Portuguese version of Exchange and Mart, particularly (if the link works) the Oldtimer section, where you find Mk I Escorts etc.
If I want to buy a shed for learning how to slide RWD, which would any of you recommend, if at all? I want minimum maintenance, and minimum weight.
(Be prepared - the prices are higher than in UK!)

Peronally I have always thought the old rear wheel drive toyota's to be alot of fun. A little under powered, but a good car to start to learn in. Quite reliable too ! But then again I'm a little biased as I have owned numerous twincam's throughout the years.......
Here's a pictur of tmy current car !
Hope this helps !

Thanks Paul !
Your right on the price thing though. They have always maintained quick a high premium, but seem to be going through the roof as we speak..... well.... in Ireland anyway !

Sounds quite good enough. What sort of year? Can't find anything AE86. (You'll tell me 1986, won't you )
And what sort of price range in UK - 500 for a heap, up to 2000 for a good one? Or even more?

Tell you what if you get one before me treat me to a ride. If I beat you to it I'll do the same for you!

Whatever I get, I know I'm a crap driver, so I'd like to try losing grip in a heap that I'm not afraid of damaging - and I got the impression that this is best done with engine in the front and drive at the back. Maybe I'd be better off starting with a playstation?
I'll take you up on your bet, but Plymouth is a long way for me to go

If you go down the sierra route get the rear axle off of an XR4x4 (not xr4i) and put it onto the sierra because the 4x4 had an LSD and the advantage of rear discs. It's a straight swap, I should know I did it to an xr4i a few years ago

AE86 but I am biased
Ford F500 pickup truck (based on the siera running gear) with maybe a cossie engine for good measure ?
Capri would be good
Mk2 escort would be good.
You can probably find a bimmer 320 for about 1K - weld up the diff and off you go

toyota corolla AE86's are fantastic cars but have become hugely popular for road rallying which has sent the prices sky high, you can't get a better standard production car with all toys these cars come with though.
